About Madrid

Madrid is a cosmopolitan city, faithful to its customs, culture and art, but at the same time it is a modern place, home to Europe’s leading cultural, economic and political centers. The security of the city, the good transport connections and its varied cultural and leisure offer, make Madrid one of the best cities in the world to organize meetings and congresses. It has large, well-tended parks and gardens, such as the Juan Carlos I Park, which offers locals and visitors alike the chance to enjoy the sun in one of the greenest capitals in Europe. Madrid also has Barajas Airport (with 4 terminals) which is 15 minutes by light rail from the city center and the two main train stations, Atocha and Chamartin.

Madrid is full of incredible museums and galleries. The Museo Nacional del Prado, located in the heart of Madrid, is an opportunity to see artists such as Rembrandt, van Rijn or Caravaggio, among others. Another great Madrid museum is El Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, which includes excellent collections of the most famous Spanish artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. The typical food in Madrid is full of variety and different flavors. You will find typical dishes such as Cocido Madrileño, a traditional stew based on chickpeas, prepared with meat and vegetables. You can also eat a Bocadillo de Calamares, Churros con Chocolate or Jamón.
